Dealing with food sensitivities, the waitress, Lexi, was willing to ask questions with the cooks to ensure my safety. Oh my goodness... the beef brisket and bunless beef hamburger were wonderful. Huge portions. Sweet tea was just right. Free refills and drinks to go. Going out to eat is stressful, but now I've found a favorite place when I'm in town.
Our rafting guides at White Water express recommended the place. 10/10. Our entire vacation, the food, has just been ok till today. Smokes was fantastic. Service was great, place was cute, and the food was wonderful. We ordered nachos, quesadillas, ribs, pulled pork mac n cheese sandwich, and bbq queso baked potato. Everyone was happy and stuffed. Highly recommend!!!!!!
I went to this restaurant with 4 other people. Really enjoyed all the food and food options. The service was great. Our server dealt with all our stupid games with another table. Shots shots shots..... . I wish they would have had ribs to try. I understand, though I smoke ribs at home. Overall great food great service. I would recommend this place to anybody. Oh and the smoked peach cobbler yum.
god DAMN WAS THIS GOOD!!! i got a pulled pork plate (comes with 2 sides and a piece of bread), and i was full halfway through. i can't even eat bread, and it was enough! for 13, it's a complete steal in downtown columbus. the full meal was 16.90, and i tipped 5. super polite and understanding staff, i already had a hard morning, and this was a really great way to get my afternoon on track! get that cucumber salad. so refreshing. will be back soon..
This place is great. There was plenty of parking down town, but I'm sure it depends on the night. We were told we would have a 20 minute wait, but it was about 10 minutes until we were seated. The pimento cheese wontons were good and fresh. The bourbon salmon was so good and fresh. I also loved the corn and Mac and cheese. The fried okra and banana peppers was amazing and a must try. The smothered and covered was also very tasty.
My food was fresh and seasoned well. Flavorful southern classic BBQ meals and some interesting, unique dishes I would love to try next time! I was impressed and left satisfied.
This is the best place we have eaten in Columbus. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was chill vibes and the food was delicious! This is coming from a Kansas City family who knows and loves their smoked meat! Pulled chicken plate, collards and slaw!!! MmmmMmmm! Thanks for the great send off supper! And the Carolina gold sauce…golden.
In town for a family reunion and found this place during a restaurant search. Some of the best barbecue I've had and the service was top-notch. Liz was our server, and she said that she had only worked there for just over a week. She was so fun to have. Very friendly and personable. She was very attentive without being overbearing and went above and beyond to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Thank you, Liz! The food....amazing! I ordered the pork nachos as an appetizer and the pig mac for my entree. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The crunch from bacon added just the right amount of crunch to the sandwich. The pitmaster knows what he/she is doing. If I'm in the Columbus area again, I'll definitely be back!
